Fort Ticonderoga Winter Reenactment

We visited Fort Ticonderoga to see a reenactment of the 1758 Battle on Snowshoes, a French and Indian War battle that happened when Robert Rogers’ Rangers encountered a French force while scouting near the fort. Although there was not enough snow for snowshoes, a fresh snow from the night before left enough on the ground to contribute to a “winter” experience. Activities included following French soldiers on a scouting expedition around the fort grounds, stopping at a British ranger camp in the woods, viewing a demonstration of the actual battle, and exploring the fort interior.
