The annual Adirondack Balloon Festival in Glens Falls, NY was a perfect photo opportunity. Probably close to 100 balloons were on the field, and we wandered around with the crowd watching the crews inflate the balloons and finally take off into the air. Balloon designs varied from multicolored patchwork to animal shapes. One of the most creative shapes was a panda bear, whose oblong shape unfortunately did not lend itself to being aerodynamic and, despite valiant efforts from the crew, never made it off the ground.
Also among these pictures you’ll see a few shots of an Air Force cargo plane that was on display for people to see inside and outside. All in all, this was a fascinating fall experience and a chance for some great close and distant shots.
