Vermont Maple Festival

One March Saturday, we ventured out to Vermont with friends to see sugarhouses during the Maple Festival and watch maple syrup production in action. Unfortunately, with unseasonable cold, the sap wasn’t flowing well yet and most sugarhouses weren’t boiling it yet, but they still put on demonstrations for people to see the process, with plenty of free maple goodies on hand as well.

Bennington Monument

The Bennington Battle Monument¬†commemorates the Battle of Bennington, which occurred in 1777 during the American Revolution. The Americans successfully defended a supply storage area from Burgoyne’s attack, ultimately contributing toward the victory at Saratoga.

Bennington Moose

One of the many colorful moose running rampant through the streets of Bennington. OK, “running rampant” may be an exaggeration.
